Contribución al conocimiento del género "Rubus" ("Rosaceae") en la Península Ibérica

The Rubus flora of the Iberian Peninsula has hitherto scarcely been explored. Previous authors often erroneously identified the brambles occurring here with species described from Central Europe. Besides, the descriptions published by some of them seem to refer mostly to singular or local morphotypes (spontaneous hybrids and their derivatives). These phenomena are very common within the sexual and apomict European bramble flora and have no systematic value. The elucidation of the Rubus species which in fact occur is a task still left to the future. Up to now, only a few species of Rubus subgenus Rubus have been recorded: Rubus ulmifolius Schott, R. canescens DC., R. radula Weihe, R. galloecicus Pau and R. caesius L. Among these, R. ulmifolius is by far the most predominant and may constitute about 90% of the Rubus vegetation. R. lainziiH. E. Weber, sp. nov. (sectio Corylifolü, series Subthyrsoidei) is newly described here, and ilhistrated with pictures. Also, an up to now as good as unknown taxon, R. galloecicus Pau (sectio Rubus, series Radulae), is redescribed and illustrated.Hasta hoy la representación del género Rubus en la Península Ibérica no ha sido apenas estudiada. Ciertos autores identificaron de modo erróneo las zarzas que allí existen con especies descritas de Europa central. Además, publicaron descripciones que parecen corresponder, en la mayoría de los casos, a morfótipos locales o singulares (híbridos espontáneos o sus descendientes); los que, en el caso de las zarzas centroeuropeas, se forman en gran número y carecen de valor taxonómico. El censo de las especies de Rubus que en realidad existen es cosa que aún está por hacer. Hasta el momento, del subgénero Rubus tan solo están confirmadas unas pocas: Rubus ulmifolius Schott, R. canescens DC., R. radula Weihe, R. galloecicus Pau y R. caesius L. De las mismas, R. ulmifolius, con mucho, es la predominante: podría constituir él solo, poco más o menos, el 90% del total de la biomasa genérica. Se describe aquí R. lainzii H. E. Weber, sp. noy.
